Campaigns: Recovery Voices Count
What is Recovery Voices Count?
Recovery Voices Count in action!
Join us November 4th in making Recovery Voices Count!
This November’s election has been called one of the most important in recent memory. The voices of the organized recovery community are being heard across the country as part of Faces & Voices non-partisan Civic Engagement Campaign.
As recovery community organizations and recovery advocates register voters, educate candidates for public office about key issues and turn out voters in growing numbers, we will have an even greater impact on the lives of people who still need help with their addiction, people in long-term recovery, their families and communities.
Faces & Voices has developed a range of tools and materials to assist advocates in engaging in our nation’s civic life, including 5 Questions for Candidates and a Candidates Pledge. Click on the links above for more information. In a recent column, The Politics of Addiction, former Faces & Voices board member William Moyers asks some of the questions that need answering by candidates for public office.
What candidates for office and our elected officials think about addiction recovery matters. And it matters that you get out to vote on November 4th.
Here are a few things that you can do between now and November 4th:
1). Educate yourself on the candidates, the issues and the party platforms
2). Work on Get-out-the-Vote activities in your community.
Email Faces & Voices National Field Director Tom Coderre to find out more about Get-out-the-Vote.
3). Add the Recovery Voices Count Logo to Your Email Signature Block
You can add our Recovery Voices Count logoto your email signature block and draw attention to our campaign and the growing voice of the organized recovery community. Below you will find logo that are available for your download. To download
the file, click on the link and then click "save." The file is in zip format and needs to be unzipped to open and view it. You can also add text like “Another Voter for Recovery” or “Remember to vote for recovery on November 4” or “We Recover and We Vote” to your email tagline.

4). Vote!
Recovery Voices can count, if we get out and vote on November 4th. About half of voting-age adults don’t take the time to vote. The more people from the recovery community who participate in our nation’s civic life, the greater our ability to hold elected officials accountable.
