US Recovery Delegates

2009 Delegate at A&E’s Brooklyn Bridge Recovery Rally in NYC

2008 Delegates at A&E’s Brooklyn Bridge Recovery Rally in NYC
In 2008 and 2009, we came together for the first time as people in long-term recovery from addiction to participate as Delegates at A&E's Brooklyn Bridge Recovery Rally in New York City. We represent each of the 50 states and Washington, DC and have organized as the US Recovery Delegates to continue to work together as a group and individually to support recovery.
We welcome opportunities to serve as a resource and state contact for expanding opportunities for recovery, including speaking opportunities. If you have any questions about the US Recovery Delegates, please contact us. We look forward to working with you!
Our Mission
As a group and individually, United States Recovery Delegates act as key advisors and advocate to provide a nationwide resource and state contact support for our affiliated organizations: the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD), Faces & Voices of Recovery and other such agencies. By working together, we strive and advocate for change of the public's perceptions of addiction and the possibilities of recovery; to change the public stigma towards the disease of addiction.
Our Objectives
- To make ourselves and our resources available to the media, state, federal, and private agency requests for speaker needs and information
- Support efforts and events within our state and our mission, to the extent that we are able
- Each Delegate, based on their experience and resources, will aid in fulfilling requests by referring those seeking assistance to the appropriate resource
- Each Delegate agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics and Guidelines established by US Recovery Delegates Advisory Board.
